I created a library called DVR and pointing to a DVR folder. I have told my recordings to go into the DVR library but all the recordings are still going into the TV Show library. How can I get my recordings to go into the DVR library?
Why do you want separate locations? When I first started with Plex I created a DVR library and had my recordings going to this library. As part of my post processing the recordings were then moved to my TV Shows library. The effect was that for every show I was recording Plex would record every episode even if I had the episode already in my TV Shows library. Plex when determining whether to record an episode looks in the library the recording is going to be created in, since my DVR library was kept empty primarily Plex never found any already recorded episodes.
I have since switched to having my TV Shows library containing several folders. One where my recordings happen which is on a small SSD that was originally my boot drive but was replaced with a larger SSD. I also have one folder on a HDD that recordings after post processing get moved to from the SSD, and a couple of other folders. This allows me to have Plex use the drive I want for recordings but Plex is also able to see everything I already have recorded so I don’t get the same episode recorded numerous times.
If you still want the other library used I would recommend deleting the existing recording and recreate it pointing to the new library you want to use. Plex seems to keep track of the original library and recording location even after changing it in the UI.
