DVR Recordings Named Improperly (Jeopardy!)

When I use Plex to record episodes of Jeopardy from my OTA antenna, the files are named as follows:
D:\TV\Jeopardy!\Season 34\Jeopardy (1984) - SxxExxx - Episode xxx.ext

I need them named as follows (to follow TVDB convention):
D:\TV\Jeopardy!\Season 2018\Jeopardy! - SyyyyExxx - Episode xxx.ext

Plex handles other daily shows like Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune just fine, but this one is a problem.

Any ideas?

Mine is set to record and today was S34E122 what does yours show as?

Mine was recorded as Jeopardy (1984) - S34E122 - Episode 122.ts

I needed it to be Jeopardy! - S2018E42 - Episode 42.ts

Thetvdb doesn’t match the epg which is the most accurate.

Bug someone at thetvdb to make this season instead of years and that will fix your problem.

Same issue as daily show or pawn stars but I doubt you will get traction at thetvdb.

Some season cover multiple years so doing 2018 is bad practice. Season and episode number is the way to be.

I could add the episodes myself everyday to the TVDB if I wanted to go that route, but I want an automated solution with no input from me. This happens with a few shows where there are two (or more) schools of thought as to how the episodes should be numbered.

I use Kodi as my front end, and it only recognizes an episode if the TVDB recognizes it, so I am stuck adopting the naming convention accepted by the TVDB. At the very least, I need to find a utility that will convert the filenames from Plex’s format to the Scene standard (like thexem.de).

What I do for these cases if it bothers me enough is instead of DVRing it I source it from the scene since it’s named properly out there.

Me too, but for some reason, episodes after 2/16 have dried up on the Scene.

Plex does a nice job of grabbing episodes off of my antenna and removing the commercials. I just need the files named properly so that Kodi will see them.

For anyone following this thread, I found a solution.

I used Advanced Renamer to rename the files using the created date to get to the proper filename format. Once you play with it for a while there is a command line interface to automate the process with a batch file.
