@nebhead Those logs you posted only go back as far as 2am on August 10th.

@nebhead You can’t at this point. The best thing to do is download the logs as soon as you encounter the issue. 
@DaveBinM - Thanks, I should have a similar situation coming up on Wednesday this week and we will see if I can reproduce. If it does, I’ll make sure to save the logs straight away, and post here.
Finally got back to this. Sorry for the delay. I set two recordings for today from 9-10a central. the “Today” show recorded fine, but “Psych” is still trying to record. Let me know if you need more information.

I had the same problem start on the 12th and just realized it today. I must have had 10+ shows on the recording schedule indicate they were 100%, but they were sitting in the .grab file. After that, Plex just stopped recording anything without an error mssg. ALSO, not sure if this is related, my activity on the server said I had 2 shows currently broadcasting on direct play when I did not. I tried to stop them both: 1 would stop for 2 seconds and start back up, and the other would not stop at all. I had to reboot my server and all the shows that were in the .grab folder deleted when plex restarted.
I believe this is the same issue that was already reported in this thread.
To work around roll back to a release prior to 1.7.x. I would suggest either 1.5.6 or 1.6.1. A process for downloading older versions of PMS is on pg3 of the linked thread.
I just wanted to report this bug is still present in the new version of Plex released this week. 1.8.1.4139 My Tivo Romio, on the other hand, has been working flawlessly since I put it in service. The tuner on the Romio is much more sensitive than the one in the home run extend so I find that some of my fringe stations on the hd home run air without all the hiccups that occur on the extend. I will keep Plex around for the duration of my yearly Ples Pass but now that the DVR is considered production ready I can’t believe this bug has gone through several update cycles without being fixed. A DVR needs to be reliable to be of any worth.

I just saw that they dropped the BETA moniker from the dvr feature on their main page. I am shocked considering such a huge issue is widespread and unresolved since 1.7.x. I have seen innumerable logs submitted on this issue, and we know the exact release it started on. Seems like we’d have something by now in the way of a fix.
@nebhead Thanks for those logs. They’ve covered pretty much everything in that window of time. Just need to see if I can figure out why it didn’t end properly 
New logs tonight, where two recordings were occurring. Both scheduled for 8-9PM, where one failed and is still showing up as recording.
And in fact, it appears that the tuner is still active!
Any progress on this issue? Mine continues to fail and has become entirely unreliable as a DVR
@caltagc2 - I think @DaveBinM was looking for logs to track down the failure, so if you can reliably reproduce the issue it might be good to upload your logs here. I’ve got my classic failure scenario occurring tonight, so I will be watching and uploading logs if it fails again.
I tried for week to get the DVR working with the HDHomeRun. I bought the HDHomeRun DVR service instead. It’s a shame, but if there is a big problem then Plex should say something and stop taking people’s money.
Detoffol I would love to hear how well the HD homerun DVR works and what format it records. I love Plex and initially loved Plex DVR, but the current bugs are so big as to render it useless other than for hobbiest tinkering. Ironic that in beta it was pretty solid but now that it is final it doesn’t work at all.
A bit of good news/bad news that I was unable to reproduce the issue again last night (with my typical Wednesday night recording schedule which used to consistently fail). It may be a bit premature to say that the issue is fixed, but given I haven’t been able to reproduce it after the last update is a good sign. With that said, I’ve been turning on verbose logging prior to the recordings to see if I can capture more log data for this thread. I’m hoping that’s not throwing off the timing, avoiding the issue.
