Just confirming that I get the same errors with WinTV-quadHD on Linux Mint. The only way I can flush out the stalled programs is by running
sudo service plexmediaserver restart
All in progress recordings are lost though.
Same issue after updating to 1.8.1.4139 on QNAP. The recording shows 100% complete in Plex but still shows that it is recording and the channel on the HomeRunHD Prime is not being released. channel shows still in use under the HomeRunHD channel status.

here are a few logs as i am having the same problems is there somewhere to download older versions apparently before 1.7 were fine.

So can’t upload any logs from the timeframe of a failed recording. However, when I checked task manager on the Windows file server there were five instances of plextranscoder.exe. I was recording two things at the time so expected to see two.
When I clicked end task on them all, the two recordings showed up within Plex (they weren’t before) however only part of the recording was there and not the whole episode.
I have this happen every couple of days. It’s really frustrating.

@DaveBinM having the exact same issue on the latest 1.81, was much better for a few weeks and now it is back like it was before, this really makes the DVR useless and has been going on for some time.

Yeah I have downgraded back to 1.6.1.3722 and it seems to be working again.

that version support all the cards they have listed on the site? I’m using an hdhomerun and a WinTV-quadHD by Hauppauge. and do you have to setup all your recording again?
It supports the HD Homerun as that is what I use. Not sure about that WinTV.
All my recordings carried over.

One thing I found is that the iOS app no longer has the recording / guide options available. I assuming this is due to the older server version.
@stridemat I believe the Program Guide came in with the 1.7.2 release along with Live TV for iOS.
@nicksphone0161 don’t think the WinTV was supported with 1.6.1, saw some mention in the 1.7.3 release notes, so was probably in the earlier 1.7 releases:

Sorry I haven’t got to these yet. Things have been pretty hectic in my day job, so I’ve not had a lot of time to get in depth in the last week. I’ll have a look as soon as I can and see what I can find.

@DaveBinM update, I turned remote access off and touch wood I have not had an issue for 50+ hours now this is the longest I have gone without an issue and apparently I’m stuck with this version till its fixed as 1.6.1 is not compatible with the WinTV card I have and don’t feel like going from 6 at once to 2 with my hdhomerun.
@BRBMan try turning remote off see if it helps you as well
oh don’t know if it makes a difference as well but I stopped using edge to browse the server and only use chrome during this time.
