DVR Recordings not saving after upgrade to 1.26.0.5715

I updated my Plex Server to 1.26.0.5715 and now the “activity monitor” shows the scheduled DVR recording recording. The .grab folder shows the file growing in size. The logs show it moved it from .grab to the normal spot. But the recording/folder is not present where it says it moved it to.

If I schedule a new recording, it seems to work as expected but existing records don’t save.

Not sure what to do - any help would be greatly appreciated.

From the logs which make me think plex, thinks it was moved:

What OS is your server running on? Any chance of getting your server logs with that event I can add to a report for devs?

I am using a FreeBSD 12 jail on Truenas Core to run plex server.

I’ve filtered the logs and uploaded a zip of them. Hopefully this will have enough information. I’ve also deleted the scheduled recording for this show and recreated the scheduled recording.

(it is happening with all previously scheduled recordings but testing out if recreating the scheduled recording will solve the issue since “new scheduled records” seems to work)

Plex Media Server - NBC Nightly News Recording Issue.zip (10.2 KB)

I’m having the same, or a very similar issue. As soon as a show finishes recording, the file is moved to the trash. I have to go into the trash and move it back to the Plex Library. This started happening as soon as the latest update was applied.

Mine is running on Mac OS 11.6.3 on Apple M1 processor.

When you say go to trash, you’re talking about the Mac OS trash and not a Plex trash right?

I don’t think I have a “trash can” on my FreeBSD install unfortunately like windows/mac have … but if it’s a trash can in Plex, I’d love to know where/how to find it and can check for the recordings there.

I think he is talking about the MacOS trash.

The “trash” in Plex is only an indication of files it cannot find that were previously there like if a media drive got disconnected. There will be a trash can icon on the poster. Emptying trash just means to purge those DB items.

Question. are your recording retention rules based on dates? like delete after X days.

Yes.

Keep episodes added in the past 3 days

Delete episodes after playing - on next refresh

You will have to update to the Beta 1.26.1.5762 there is a date bug in 1.26.0.

Yes…I do mean the Mac OS trash.

Thanks for the recommendation Tiebierius. I updated to the Plex beta, but still have the same issue.

I tried this too and same issue … also using the beta it seems that setting a recording or updating an already scheduled recording doesn’t always work.

I did get one scheduled recording to save for changing the keep to all episodes and delete to never delete. That recording saved to my library as expected.

I am experiencing the same issue (for the past several days) but only with certain shows, NBC Nightly News and PBS News Hour. Other shows record normally. Like you, all indications are the recording was successful but it doesn’t show up or exist in any folders I searched. I tried deleting then recreating new recordings with the same results. I’m currently running PMS version 1.26…0.5715-7000 on a Synology NAS, DSM version 7.1-42661.

There was a bug in date handling affecting users who have a deletion policy for recordings

A fix was released today in Plex Media Server Beta 1.26.1.5798

There were also other date handling fixes so it is advisable to run a manual EPG Refresh through DVR Settings after updating to this version
