DVR Recordings Scheduled but not saved

Hardware: Mac Mini i5 2.6GHz 8GB
OS: OSX 10.11.1
Plex Version: 1.8.3.4235
Tuner H/W: HDHomeRun CONNECT 123211E9 Version 20170815

Hi there.

I am attempting to record using Plex DVR. I can find programs using the guide and schedule a recording however nothing is saved in the TV Shows library. There are no visible errors on the UI to say a recording has failed & the system has found my tuner hardware OK.

Please inform me how to solve this as I have purchased both the tuner hardware and Plex Pass lifetime explicitly for the DVR functionality.

Check the Plex Media Server log. For information about the recording. Can you post more information about the show? Is it a new show with new episode or a repeat show/episode, what does your settings for the recording look like? Screenshots of the settings would be helpful.

Thank you for your time, much appreciated.

It is a new series of which this was the first episode - I have attached logs and the screen shots of the show, recording & settings.

Your Plex Media Server log file is reporting an Error:
Sep 06, 2017 06:58:17.520 [0x7000004ac000] ERROR - Error: Unable to set up server: bind: Address already in use (N5boost16exception_detail10clone_implINS0_19error_info_injectorINS_6system12system_errorEEEEE)

I have never seen this error before so not sure what to tell you to look at. I know this seems to be some sort of DNS error. There is nothing else showing after the error. Normally you would see entries for recordings that are occurring, user connections that are established, DVR recordings that are being scheduled, etc… This DNS error seems to be preventing other operations. The only thing I can suggest would be to check your IP Addressing on your network, particularly the server.

Thank you for the detail I had not seen that. Had a quick search and there are a couple of threads that might be similar?

I will check later on and see if my ipv6 is configured

Just to report that I enabled IPv6 by:

  1. Go to Settings -> Server -> Network
  2. Check the ‘Enable server support for IPv6’ setting
  3. Click Save
  4. Restart PMS instance
