DVR recordings won't allow me to select which library to add to

Trying to record a TV show using the DVR capabilities, and it only shows my “Movies” library in the list of allowed locations, not the (empty) “TVRecordings” library which is on the drive with all the free space.

I get Plex is smart, but why can’t it just be dumb and let me select where to store my recordings?

If it thinks a showing is a movie, it will want to record it to a movie Library. Simply create a New folder where you have space, and then add it to a new movie library. And then you can choose which movie Library the movie recording goes into.

How does one set the drive/directory for DVR? More Specifically, for Live TV, where can one say to use the internal SSD instead of a networked drive?

It doesn’t even have to be a new movie library.
You can add the new movie folder on your other drive to the existing movie library. Then Plex will let you select which folder to use for the recording.
