correct
I wanted to share some insight to others having this issue…
…a colleague at my work has the same NAS and has been running the latest version of Plex server (v1.6.1.1291) on the NAS (Asustor AS6404T, ADM v3.3.2 RJ12).
Two days ago he purchased the HDHomeRun DUO (mine is the Quattro, but otherwise our setup is identical).
He was able to successfully setup the DVR with an XML feed.
The above tells me that the issue is, as someone else posted, related to users who had a DVR setup PRIOR TO upgrading Plex to one of the recent 1.6.x versions.
Is it correct to presume that Plex will be providing a fix, rather than expecting that all affected users will find a way to safely downgrade Plex, delete the old DVR, and then upgrade Plex (without losing meta-data or breaking iTunes plug-in or losing iTunes playlists)?
I had same issue and got it all running by following steps in another thread that essentially involved deleting all PMS log files which made my existing HDHomeRun DVR reappear so I could delete it and then set it up again.
Can you provide a link to that thread? Also - were there any adverse consequences of deleting the log files? Thanks.
Same problem…have you had any success since?
If looking for the log files.
This thread had instructions on how to fix this…
Hi wondering if there has been any progress
We’ve not heard any reports of this in a while. Can you please provide your server version, tuner model, OS, and some server logs please, covering the time you attempt to setup the DVR.
Not working for me for a longtime. Im a lifetime member and the family is getting annoyed now it’s been a few weeks and they have no TV.
Can someone from Plex please post - What is the legitimate fix?
Im on a NAS - Synology and using: PlexMediaServer-1.18.2.2058. And i have a Silicondust HDHomeRun CONNECT.
Was one of the first to use this feature 3 years ago as that was the only supported player back then, been working quite well until now.
Thank you.
BUMPING this one up!
Please provide the information I’ve requested previously in this thread: DVR Setup in Australia not working
Hey Dave, sorry thread is really confusing and i dont see any post from you about requesting information…? Maybe i just cant see that one…Let me know what you need and im more than happy to supply it to you.
Thank you!
You are aware that the EPG for Australia was dropped?
It’s the post right before your first post in here. Or you can click the link I posted.
My understanding is it only server logs you require right? Where do i send them. My OS and other info etc is above.
You can post them here, or DM them to me.
Hi Dave,
I have a Lifetime Plex Pass and had the Plex DVR functioning correctly until Plex pulled the plug on the EPG in June last year.
Since then, I have obtained access to the freEPG.tv xmltv Australian guide data for the Sydney and the Wollongong areas (my residence receives ota TV signals from broadcasters in both regions).
Problem that I am experiencing is that I am unable to determine how to import the guide data into my Synology PMS (current version PlexMediaServer-1.18.4.2171-ac2afe5f8-x86_64) which is otherwise running well. I can not determine how/where to create the XMLTV guide on my Synology device. The guide is made available as a URL that’s updated twice daily (eg:
http://au.freepg.tv/xmltv/oztivo/NSW.Sydney.gz?UID=XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX)- identification removed.
If I click on the guide URL, this creates a web page in my browser that is obviously complete and detailed XMLTV guide data. How do I pass the link to Plex. Is there any way for the PMS application running on my NAS to receive either (and preferably both) links.
@Rhubarb_home freEPG.tv has closed down. Try the alternative linked from their site
You can find it documented on our support site: https://support.plex.tv/articles/using-an-xmltv-guide/
