I have several shows / movies scheduled to record on the DVR.
When looking at the Guide (using the web app to access my Plex server), the red circle “recording” shows up and when I open up the show in the grid, it indicated it will be recorded.
However, when I open up the Recordings tab right below the Guide tab, none of the shows appear in either the Calendar dropdown or the Agenda dropdown.
I’m bumping this back up, because apparently Plex doesn’t provide tech support for their product directly.
.
Does ANYONE know how to fix this bug? I will attempt to attach screenshots of my server showing a recording in the Guide, but not in the Recordings tab. The show won’t record, even though it shows that it will in the Guide.

Just wondering if I just threw $75 out in the street for a Plex Pass.

New Airings Only is for episodes that are on the first airing (Premiered date)
If that episode of The Six Million Dollar Man is the original series, then it is correctly not new as the premiered date was in the 1970s
I am in the UK, so not sure if its the same for you, but i find many programs which are new, but dont get flagged as new, so i always go for New/Repeat now when i schedule something (though you can get more recorded than you want)
I honestly don’t understand how it is that hard to have the guide and the recordings to show the same information. I have Plex setup to record The Big Bang Theory for new episodes only. But in the guide it shows that it is going to record every episode while on the recording page it only shows when there is a new episode. It can’t be that hard to fix this bug. It is a bug, as it says it is going to record something and then it isn’t. For me I don’t want it recorded, but it shouldn’t say it will record it if it actually isn’t going to. This is probably a simple if then else statement to add. (If not a new recording then do not show the “Recording Scheduled” on the guide.)
For any non-episode shows (where there is no sXXeYY), there is no “New and Repeat Airings” option because Plex considers them single episode shows. So it appears that two of these shows with the same name are confusing Plex in the guide. I miss recordings all the time because of this and sometime will resort to recording the show before and extending it the entire length of the show I actually want to record. This has been a problem for a long time but I finally decided to take the time document this.
What I think is going on is a confusion by Plex on how to interpret the guide. When a show has the same name as another airing in the guide, it will select one to display in “Recordings”. Then it also displays in the Guide other airings to be recorded but they don’t actually get recorded.
Sports airings are frequently victims of this (you sports fans must hate Plex!). In the example shown, the Guide displays NFL Football for Sat at 5:00pm (ABC) and Sun at 10:00am (NBC). Recordings does not display the one for Sat at 5:00pm and hence it will not record. For some reason these two airings are interpreted by Plex as the same exact show so when you schedule one to record the other one is shown in the guide to record but is actually skipped. If you remove one recording they both get removed!
A good test is Sports Center. Many times recording or even live viewing doesn’t work because Plex arbitrarily selects which airing to record due to its confusion.
Plex needs to understand how to deal with non episoded shows.
