The live-TV playback of my plex server is only usable for one single tv-stream, which is mostly playing without glitches and audio stops. But as soon there is a parallel recording or a second tv stream opened on another device, none of the streams are working anymore and the recorded video file has massive glitches and is unusable. At the same time the CPU, Network, GPU and IO are not intensivly used, the server is a i5-6500 with gigabit network and a ssd is used for buffering and recording.
I am using xteve as broker and a nextdvr backend server. As test I was watching 4 parallel tv streams of my 4 tuners in parallel from the nextdvr server, and there are no issues, not a single glitch. So the stream source is not the issue and bottleneck.
I have the issue on a windows server 2019 as well as on my synology ds920+ (with ssd write cache). Since I am having the same problems on the synology and windows server, it seems to be a Plex issue.
I used for testing as clients a iPhone 11, a nvidia shield, win 10 laptop with plex in web and win 10 gaming pc with plex app, all clients with most actual updates installed.
How can this problem get solved?
I am running PMS on Windows 10 and was also having a massive issue with being able to watch or record more that 1 show at the same time. I could only watch one at a time 2 shows would buffer every 2 seconds and adding a third show it would cause all to crash. It did not matter what source it was coming from the HDHR or Internal tuner card it all produced the same results. So I read forum after forum on plex and any thing I could find on google. Till finally I stumbled upon this random forum that mentioned something that sounded like the same issue I was having there was a link to a installer that I downloaded and installed. Now I can watch 8 channels at the same time its kind of a mess to listen to but its leaps and bounds better that what I had before also I have had 0 failed recordings after installing it has made my experiance with the DVR and live TV 100% better. Hope it helps you too.

Hi, thanks for you respond! The LAV Filters I have already installed, otherwise I could not watch any teststream from the DigitalDevices DVR Card and the nextPVR would not have worked. So this didnt fix it for me. Also the same issue is on the synology and there I am not aware of the need for installing any additional codec library.
What else did you change? As a workaround I am using KODI with the nextPVR Plugin and that works as a charm.
In my case all I did was install LVA reboot and it worked. about a week after installing there was a plex update that broke it and all I did was reinstall LVA and it worked perfect again. Other than that I do not have a good answer for you.
In my research I also looked into NextPVR and a couple other oddball ones and had the same issue Issue with multiple streams I just could not seem to get any thing to work. I have not tried any thing other than Plex after installing LVA.
I have had no missed recordings, no glitchy audio or video in recordings, and no playback issues for 36 days now.
