There should be an asterisk before the .db-wal and .db-shm in your rm commands. It may also be helpful to copy the commands from linux as is, so that the space in ‘Plug-in Support’ is adhered to.
For me, I also removed any file in the Databases directory with “dlna” in it, as well as any other file with the word “tv” in it.
After trying around for hours I have figured out to fix it. Thanks to the posts above that led me to the solution. DVR wasn’t working any longer after updating to 3.108.something.
What worked for me (Ubuntu):
stop Plex:sudo service plexmediaserver stop
Remove EPG DBs:
cd /var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases
Thank You, Thank You!
This fixed my issue with HDHomeRun Prime. Was setup before with Plex and the IP changed on the HDHomeRun Prime. After that Plex was stuck on ‘Unable to load DVR’ and would not find the unit. After this it saw the unit right away.
Still having issues with this on my end. I’ve followed all of the steps above, and am still getting “There was a problem saving your DVR. Please try again.” I’ve updated to the latest version of Plex, restarted several times, to no avail. When the bugged releases were out recently, I was able to remove the DVR from the UI, but was not able to add it back. So this most recent build that supposedly fixes the DVR issues does not fix my issue.
I had the same issue, seems there is an issue with the epg data. If you manage to delete the epg files before it re-creates them on the existing tuner, then you should be able to delete and re-add the tuner. If you’re too slow, just try again. After a few attempts it worked fine for me. (slightly different procedure for my qnap but the same fix nonetheless).
Ever since upgrading from 1.17.0.1709 to any version of 1.18.x.x…
DVR fails with the usual “can’t tune to channel” for approximately 60% of recordings.
Watching the same show/channel on Live TV works fine.
Reverting back to 1.17.0.1709 is the only way I can record reliably.
