I am having this exact same issue! Its just gone… The Hauppauge card is still in devices, I can still play TV via the wintv.8.5 app. I have tried to restart the server, and plex server app twice. nothing. it’s just simply no longer a function of plex.
Same issue: window10, HD Homerun HDHR5-2US.
Live TV/DVR tab missing; Settings/LiveTV & DVR…need to setup DVR; Dont see HD homerun tuners; try to add manually with IP address. After adding requested info and continues to pull up guide, get error that DVR is already in use.
Long ago changed my Plex acct to another gmail and no longer have access to junktrashbogusemail, but can’t find a place to update my forum linked email…any ideas…I know this is not the place for this topic, however I can’t see anything sent to my old gmail acct.
Hauppauge card /windows 10. deleted drivers reset cards reinstalled, nothing. Can’t rollback plex to check, but have rolled back windows and all other drivers to dec 20 and still nothing.
I’m having the same issue and can’t find a fix. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn’t fix it. I also tried installing an older version when it did work, but again, it didn’t work.
I don’t have any live tv access now local or remote.
Same. Plex no longer recognizes DVR (HDHomeRun tuner - Image #1) yet also won’t find the tuner on the network (see attached image) when I put in the IP address directly (Image #2).
Since it doesn’t think it has a tuner, I can’t delete it and start over. Uninstalling Plex and re-installing does not solve the issue.
OK I rebooted and was able to get the web interface up again but no access to the server settings. I reinstalled the last update and it had me reboot again and this time I am in the server settings again but back to square one. Endlessly looking for a device (My Hauppauge 4HD tuner) I know is working and online. There is something seriously wrong with plex but nobody seems to know what.
One thing I have noticed is that the Plex tray icon keeps disappearing even though the server is still active. I have to run the server app again to get it back and accessible.
The heart of the issue is absolutely the DVR function. If I do reboot and get plex services up again. I do not dare touch it or try to go into the server settings, this craters the entire thing immediately. Its just untouchable. No adding media, no tweaking. I have noticed that the database is extremely large… (The entire plex server folder is 139 gigs), that seems way too large. This is very disheartening as I have spent several years setting this up and was starting to recommend it to everyone cutting the cord. Even built a second server to send to my mom on a fixed income spending over $200 a month for cable. I truly hope this is not the end, I have loved this product, even calling it the app I have ben waiting for for 20 years…
I am having the same issues as everyone else. I have two Hauppauge dual Tv tuners, they are working fine with other software.
The issues seems to me to be related to Plex updating/changing their guide data provider. As soon as I was instructed to delete and reinstall my DVR I’ve had issues.
Now, I have found a solution, but I believe it to be temporary.
First close down the plex server, then open up the backup database and deleted the newest databases.
On Windows that was - %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server - then Plug-in Support → Databases
Then I deleted the following
Then I restarted plex. The DVR and Live TV function was restored and it began rebuilding the guide. I am not sure if this will continue to work or if updating plex will break it again.
I forgot to mention, I did “restore a back-up database” as well by removing both:
com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db
and then renaming one of the back-ups to match those corresponding files.
So for example “com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-2021-02-11” was renamed to “com.plexapp.plugins.library.db”
and “com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db-2021-02-11” was renamed to “com.plexapp.plugins.library.blobs.db”
