Error message with multiple identical tuners

I have two identical tuners which will not both work with Plex at the same time - players simply report ‘Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.’. When there is only one tuner connected to Plex, there is no problem at all and the channels can be accessed and recorded. It was my understanding that multiple tuners are supported, does anyone have any advise please?

@OttoKerner - I see you assisted with VBox queries relating to cached ip addresses which was also a problem that I had. I don’t suppose you would now be able to shed any light on this additional issue I have, thanks.

Sorry, I have no specific know-how regarding these tuners.
I don’t even know them.

I can only give you generic tips like:

  • make sure that every of these tuner devices has its own, individual IP address
  • make sure they appear as two individual devices under Settings - Server - Manage - LiveTV & DVR

Hey @OttoKerner, thank you for the prompt response. I tried the general tips you gave before posting on here. I just seem to get the ‘Could not tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.’ error when I have both tuners configured in Plex. Is there any mileage in providing logs or a screen grab of the console page?

Please activate server “debug” logs.
Then watch one minute of tv, while having only one tuner configured.
Then fetch server logs.

Then add the second tuner and try to play tv again.
Fetch server logs again.
