Easier Methods to Remove Tracks from Playlists

Suggestions:

  1. From the 3 dots on the bottom of the play/controls screen add an option to remove the song in play from the active playlist just like the options to add it to a playlist.
  2. After swiping down from the play/controls screen put the track in play at the top of the track listing. The selected sort order can be performed below that.
  3. Add a track sorting option to list by track name - artist. Currently when the Tracks sorting option is selected the list is by artist- track but it seems there is also a chronological element to the order, and if the list contains a large number of compilation/various artist album tracks the sort order can get really messy making it hard to locate the song in play.

My justification is that when I am listening to a playlist more likely than not I cannot take the time to search for the song in play if I want to remove it from the playlist. And there is no use in trying to remember the song to remove it later when I do have the time to search.

You can click on currently playing media’s “More Actions” and “Add to Playlist” and add it to an existing playlist or create a new one. There needs to be a “Remove from Playlist” option to remove it from a playlist, as it is presently impossible to find a track in a playlist to remove it if you can’t remember when you added it.

Yes, I once saw you can swipe tracks off a playlist in Plexamp on mobile, but now it doesn’t work. Never found a way in Plexamp for Desktop.

Now I can’t even swipe away tracks on mobile.

It also would be more intuitive to use the 3 dots menu, since that is how you ADD tracks.

this is necessary for longer playlists, especially because the sorting options for playlists are abysmal. if i can’t sort the playlist in such a way that i can find the song easily to delete it (OR SEARCH FOR IT PLEASE JUST ADD A SEARCH BAR TO THE PLAYLIST PAGE), then let me remove it from the song’s three-dot menu on the now playing page. ctrl+f on pc browser doesn’t seem to work either, which is a separate but related issue.

Really yes !

As buermann said, another option would be when adding a song to a playlist, show in which playlist it already is and add an option to remove it from there. No need of the context of the current playlist and you could manage the song on multiple playlists from a single menu.
