Editing TV Station Channel List

I have both a HDHomeRun CONNECT and older DUAL. DVR setup was easy including the scan for television station channels and match to the EPG. At least for the CONNECT.

I then edited the CONNECT’s list to only include the channels of interest. That was 16 of the 32 available.

The DUAL’s scan reported 36 channels that would match to the EPG. The advantage of the DUAL on the network is one of its tuners is connected for digital cable. Its other tuner and the CONNECT are connected to an antenna.

The catch is how do you edit the DUAL’s channel list? It reports “Unable to load channel mappings”. Those additional channels clutter the Program Guide.

(As a sidenote, Plex seems to seamlessly identify the best HDHomeRun source. The digital cable tuner is automatically selected if available and that channel’s signal is better. And, it often is.)

Did you get an answer? I too am having similar issue. I have the HDHomeRun Prime and the channel grid shows 500 channels. I only want to access about 100 of them, but there is no quick way to remove unwanted channels. using the web interface, I can unselect 7 channels, page down, unselect 7 more, etc. It takes forever. Another option would be to allow us to exclude the non-HD channels. That would really fixit up for me since I don’t really watch anything unless it’s on an HD channel.

Sorry jm_coates, no specific answer. However I was informed that the older HDHomeRun devices like the DUAL use a different scheme for maintaining the list of channels. Also, informed that Plex only selects the first source, not the “best” source.
