Some days ago, I encountered an issue in which, when accessing the “Movies & Shows in Media Libraries” section of certain actors, there were missing movies that I was certain were on my server. After conducting some tests and searching, I realized that adding the “edition” tag caused the movie to no longer appear in the list of movies on the server for all its actors. I tried refreshing metadata, optimizing the database, and other solutions, but the only way to fix it is by removing the “edition” tag.
I did a test with a new server with only one movie, Blade Runner. If I select Harrison Ford, I can see that the movie appears. If I add the “Final Cut” tag and then select Harrison Ford again, the movie disappears. In case anyone wants to try reproducing it, sometimes, after adding the tag, the movie still appears, but if you reload the application or Plex Web, it stops appearing.
This is still an issue. I have everything in my movie library assigned to an edition, (Bluray, DVD, 4K, 3DSBS, Theatrical, Extended, ect) this means nothing is showing up in the “Movies & Shows in Media Libraries” even though I have stuff that should show up there.
I don’t think this issue is directly related to the Edition tag. This problem is discussed in this thread as well. All my movies have an Edition tag, but some movies in certain libraries are displayed as sources on the credit page, while others are not. This issue should not be related to the presence of the Edition tag.
For the movies that do not appear on the credit page, even if I delete the Edition tag, they still do not show up on the credit page. This is my situation.
