EDL SUPPORT in Plex Pass subscribers without LIVETV and DVR

I was just wondering if plex supports EDL files for comskip when the user has plex pass but does not use the Live TV and DVR settings. Can’t figure it out.

It does not.

Plex did add the ability to “Detect and Skip Commercials” if you configure the Library and DVR for it. So you could have a dummy DVR and analyzed shows to store the non destructive skip points in the database.

I would be interested in figuring out how to set up a dummy DVR. If you have and links, I would really appreciate it.
