Last night my plex server stopped, for whatever reason. It had been down for several hours before i noticed and i only noticed because I went to watch something remotely and couldnt. Is it possible to implement a feature when your plex server crashes you receive an email from plex telling you it has “lost sight” of your server, similar to how Synology sends emails to you if your nas loses an internet connection?!
In addition to the 3rd party options mentioned above, there’s a few related suggestions already discussing how to handle crashes and related communication/notifications.
It shows that there’s 3 existing suggestions that already discuss what you’re suggesting. Those 3 haven’t achieved to gain more than 4 votes (combined) – which makes it seem it’s not considered essential by many (not diminishing the value of the idea but explaining why it’s not considered a priority → the latter being my personal interpretation; I have no insight in Plex overall roadmap).
Though… unless you’re of the opinion that yours is covering this in an all new or different way, I suggest you comment/vote in one or more of those existing suggestions in order to help avoiding distracting the few votes even further by having duplicate suggestions.
