Lately I’ve been having issues with server stability and had an idea. If it doesn’t exist already, any chance of adding a way to alert the account owner that his server becomes unreachable? Obviously there’s a check that works within myPLEX for green/red but if that could be pushed to an e-mail notification when it did happen that would be great.
+1 Yes, Yes…
Perhaps push notification to iOS?
and android?
E-mail, +1
Love the idea, just like Sickbeard sents to Twitter that would be awesome aswell!
Sending it through Prowl would be nice…!
Nice suggestion- concur w/ email notification.

If you are on Linux or Mac would it not be easy to setup a chron job that checks every 15 mins or so and if theres an error then you have it perform the actions you are wanting??
The problem with the app checking if its down is if its down the appchecker is down also.
Would probably be pretty easy to add this to myPlex, which already checks (waits for notifications from?) Plex servers that are linked to myPlex. Probably just add an email message when the name goes green->red, and potentially a "clear" notification when it goes the other way.
Anyway, +1 for me.

Pushover or Plex app +1
Too add on to this i would love to see alerts sent to all plex devices that you are going to be rebooting, updating, or whatever pop up on your client or shared content users screen. That would be great to see...
