Notification when Plex player loses connection with server

Can a notification be added in Plex app when the player device loses connection with the server? It would help me as my server randomly stops the Plex app. I’m sure other users would fine this useful as well. Thanks.

What exact use case do you have in mind?
Is this about Notifying the server owner about a disconnect from a client (e.g. client crashed, loss of network, streaming error) or informing the end user that their current stream is about to disconnect / has disconnected? Or something else entirely?

There’s a few similar suggestions aiming at specific scenarios like dealing with a server crash or telling users their connection is down

I’d like to be able to set up an email to myself if Plex crashes so I can go and restart it so I don’t miss any recordings.

Somehow, someway a notification the Plex service is not connected, or stopped. This is not the same as server crash. I looked on my server, Synology NAS, and there is no setting to “notify” when a package on the server has been stopped.

So…I’m wondering if there is a way for the Plex apps to notify a user of the app the server lost connection.

I suppose that’s a wide area. The package itself stopped is certainly something where the NAS will be a better source for a notification. As for connectivity… do you mean connections between the server and plex.tv or individual clients?

Hello sir. Individual clients.

So you want a notification if a client looses its connection while playing media? Just wondering what that’s going to tell you as it’s going to be tricky to distinguish what has actually caused that issue (Plex, OS issue, actual network drop…).
