I have followed the steps outlined, but PLEX is still not reading any metadata burned in to WAV files.
Please add this support. Please don’t instruct to downconvert to FLAC or re-org the folder structure

PS - Add WASAPI support to Windows Clients.
PSS - Add logarithmic volume control (so half way is half volume)
There was never a standard defined for metadata in WAV files.
There was only (years ago) an attempt made by the broadcast industry, but it never gained any traction outside of Radio stations and the like.
And by the way: conversion to Flac is not a down-conversion. The quality stays exactly the same.

The article also mentions that ID3 tags can be used with WAV, and lists several software programs, including MP3Tag, that can do it.
Certainly the quick solution is to convert to flac, since it’s already supported, but WAV metadata support isn’t impossible.

Can be used, but also mentions a complete lack of standards and only 6 players that support it. For all intent and purposes it’s not really supported. If the default Windows and OSX players don’t support it, I don’t expect Plex to waste any time on it.
I can choose what ID3 type to write to my WAV files, I just need to know what PLEX would like to read.
PLEX doesn’t even try to look for metadata, I’d like it to at least try before defaulting over to folder/name interp.
The other alt would be to have it look for a RIFF file associated to a dataset, but that would be less optimal.
JRiver reads WAV metadata, but I like your guys’ product!

yeah well plex doesn’t play wav files anyway. All I get is static. EPIC fail uninstall garbage

One post, not asking for assistance…seems like trolling. I have WAV files that play just fine. Perhaps if you asked for help you could get things working.
Not being able to read tags embedded in dsf and wav files is hugely frustrating. Roon has no issue with reading tags in these file types.
