Don’t throw away the old until some fixes the Fire TV Cube App because it don’t work with the new player (does not play live tv).
That’s why I’m trying to get as much data as I can and pass it on to our engineering teams
Your new video player don’t work on mi box too. I’m bored to always set it to off become your app force it to on
I hope this is not the case. The new player is buggy and on every client that I own, it errors out! Regardless if it’s wired or wireless.
I happen to have a Mi Box and its working here, can you describe the exact problem so maybe I can try and repo?
Well, it is the case, and we’re working towards fixing any remaining regressions over the old player. If there any specifics you can share, it’d be much appreciated
Are you working on the issue where the new video player no longer shows things full screen, on the Nvidia Shield? This started happening for me a few months ago, and hasn’t been fixed yet.
I constantly have to switch to the old one just to watch something, which is very irritating.
…I have never seen that. Can you check what you have your Display Mode set to within the player?
It was set to “Original”. Changing it to Letterbox seems to fix the issue for me, thanks!
“Original” will show the video in it’s original resolution. i.e. Playing a 1080p video on a 4K TV will only use 1/4 of the screen. “Letterbox” is the correct setting to scale to fit the screen. This should be the default so you might have accidentally changed it along the way.
I have an issue with the new player as well. I have an Synology server connected to a Philips tv with Android TV. If I start a movie with the new player it starts the movie blank (nothing is visible, but sound works) if I set the player to the old one everything works again. The pain is that I have to reset the player Everytime I start the TV again
Can you please share some logs after reproducing this, please? Let us know the time this issue happened, as well as the title to look for
I am having trouble with the new player. I’m using the newest Shield TV pro and when an episode finishes (I have automatically play next episode disabled) it shows the “last episode / next episode” screen with the fancy blurry background but it actually starts playing the next episode. You can hear it but can’t see it. If I disable the new player, this “last episode / next episode” screen has a much nicer banner image background but more importantly, it never starts randomly playing the next episode in the background. I also have to keep switching back to the old player every so often too.
Which version of the app is that?

So I posted all my version details but no reply from Dave at PLEX. Is there anything else you need to investigate this issue further?
Sorry, I don’t always see things if I’m not pinged directly, @H107474. We’re now tracking this issue internally.
