Server Version#: 1.18.2.2041
Player Version#: Latest iOS + Win10 app (outside local network)
I have enabled Remote Access and DMZ in my new Digi FiberHome router (just moved to a new apartment and provider - model number AN5506-02-FG). UpnP is active too.
As you can guess, Plex cannot broadcast from outside the local network. Server is on an old Windows 7 machine, SP1+, which gave solid service for a year prior to this move.
Does anyone have any ideas? I set the DMZ IP to 192.168.1.1, though that may be wrong, rebooted all. Stumped. I am willing to buy a better router if necessary (Romania area).
EDIT: I should mention that my ISP does not provide a stable IP address.
EDIT 2: For the benefit of any others…I had to get my ISP (Digi Romania) to turn the crap router they provided into a pass-through hub. I bought a decent router and turned on port forwarding, and now I can access Plex from outside the network. This is probably the usual solution to the ‘double NAT’ problem, but in some cases the ISP router provided isn’t so basic that you can’t turn it to bridge mode yourself. In my case, only the ISP could do it.
