Server is running on a synology ds920+
On some, not all, video files whenever I turn on subtitles the video starts buffering for couple of minutes and then goes to “Playback Error. An unexpected playback problem occurred”. This if I’m using my phone or TV. If I’m I play via a browser on my desktop it works fine. This occurs with both SRT and other forms of subtitles.
I’ve set the Burn Subtitles setting to Only image formats. All my search results for this issue seem to point to turning on subtitles sometimes triggers a video transcode. According to the server dashboard, however, video is direct stream and audio is transcoded (in all cases, browser, phone, and TV). Furthermore, my CPU only spikes to 40% utilization for a couple of seconds when the buffering starts, then drop down to a couple of percent until it gives me an error.
Anyone know what’s going on? What I can do to fix this?
