Enabling Subtitles on Roku causes transcoder to crash

The transcoder crashes if burning subtitles is set to automatic. They will work if set to always.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! It seems that Plex cadre either does not care or does not read regressive bug reports. I was going nuts about this. Jellyfin is working find so I thought, it might be my latest PMS server upgrade to the latest version. Although the issue appears to be with the ROKU version of Plex player, I still think that PMS newest version tripped it.

Agreed. Thank you!

Had plex crashing on my Mother-in-laws roku and then tested it on mine and had the same thing happen. Looks like it might have something to do with with the new Roku version of Plex (which btw is horrible! I wish we could have the previous Plex/Roku client back!) or it could have something to do with the newest PMS or a combo of both. All I know is up until a week or 2 ago it worked fine. Switching to ALWAYS burn subtitles fixed it for me too. THANK YOU for the work around! The developers need to fix this though. We shouldn’t have to always burn in subtitles, it puts more strain on our servers.

Did anyone from Plex ever look into this???
