Sometimes Plex will include the mpg videos from an enhanced audio CD and other times it won’t. Almost always, when there are more than one enhanced CD in the albums it will only find the mpg from the first one added to the library… if it even finds it.
In this screenshot, there are two enhanced CDs, totaling 3 mpg videos, but only the video from the first enhanced CD got added. The other two weren’t included. If I reverse the order when adding the two CDs, then the two videos from the other CD will be added and this one won’t be added.
Can you show a screenshot of your file manager showing the folder structure and filenames for one of these albums?
Ok, I see a couple things the might be causing issues, based on the info in this Help page.
I suggest trying the following:
-
For all the videos, I would take the artist name out of the filename. This may not be contributing to the problem, but having the artist name in the filename is not necessary and, as you can see in your screenshot, you see too little of the video’s title because of it.
-
The video files also need to have the ‘video type’ suffix. For instance, it looks like the video in ‘Fires at Midnight’ is a music video. You have the video type in parentheses, but Plex needs to see the hyphenated suffix as shown in the Help page, so I would name it
The Times They Are a' Changin'-video.mpg (Note: there is no space between the hyphen and ‘v’).
-
On Village Lanterne, I would move the videos into the CD1 folder (from the Help page: Tip! : Artist videos must be in a directory that contains at least one music track for the artist.)
-
I would also rename the video files on Village Lanterne:
- Remove the artist name
- One has a “-trailer” suffix. That would work for an extra on a movie, but I don’t know if it will work on a music album. The Help page linked above lists the suffixes for music. I’d try one of those.
- The other video doesn’t have a suffix, so I don’t know what it is. I would rename the file with something more descriptive, and add the appropriate suffix.
Let me know if any of these changes improve things.
Thank you!
No, -trailer does not work with music videos. It would be nice if the videos were displayed inside the albums to which they belong, but I can live with this.
