There was a twitter posted 8 days ago from plexapp that says:
Tip: If “Fix IncorrectMatch” isn’t showing you the right TV show, enter the ID from thetvdb.com manually.
I have looked everywhere on the Plex Media Manager, but I am not able to find where I should enter the ID.
Double-click a media item in Plex Media Manger, then down the bottom is the ‘Fix Incorrect Match’ button. Click that and it will try to search - if your result is not in the list then there’s another Search button on that window, try entering the thetvdb.com ID there.
When I do that, the only place to enter something is Name and Year. If I enter 118501 in the name field, which is the TV show “National Geographic - Wild Russia”, then the sheet is coming up empty again.
Why, oh why, don’t they just allow us to enter the name manually…
Why doesn’t this work?
Agreed.
The ability to edit metadata will be coming in a future release.
Hi. So with the latest release, we can edit meta data, however I am still get mismatches and am unable to correct them. The search functionality does not seem to work well with thetvdb. Please could you allow for a strait code input for searches. This would make things allot simpler.
Do a "Fix Incorrect Match", choose Search, and then put the TheTVDB show ID in as the search term. That'll return the show in question.
Unfortunately that is not working for me. I don't know if its a problem on my side, but the search function seldom works at all. For example, I go to search, type in "24", the little searching daisy pops up then stops and no results are shown at all.
Chris is saying you need to put in the show id not the name of the show. For the show “24” the id should be 76290

Ye, I think i need to be a little more patient next time. Seems my net was just really slow and I was jumping the gun by closing the search results. Everything is awesome now. This is probably one of the best features. You guys rock!!
Does anyone know if this works for TheMovieDB (TMDB) as well?
Hmm, not sure since freebase is the main scanner agent.
It doesn't work with TheMovieDB ID number, but it does work using the IMDB ID. For instance, if you do a Fix Incorrect Match search and put in "tt0100814" as the term, you'll get Tremors as a result. (Sorry, I just picked a 'random' movie I could think of but that I don't have in my library.)
Thanks, will give this a go.
FYI it works now. Just choose “Fix match” and search for the ID, i.e. 366337.
