No matter what input I try, when trying to match “Good Place” or “The Good Place” in my TV library, the only search result I get is “The Good Place: The Podcast”.
All my other content scrapes fine and it worked in a previous library and the show exists on TheTVDB.
So I’m not sure if the breakdown is in Plex or TheTVDB but any help would be appreciated.
Perform “Match”/“Fix Match” at the top level of this show.
Click on “Search Options”
put 311711 into the field for the tv show title
clear out the “year” field,
Search
I noticed after that this was not the only trouble show. Jim Gaffigan would only return The Pale Tourist version and Get Smart only the 1995 restart. Glad to know the workaround while this settles!
tbh, I am not sure the current TVDB scanner will get fixed as my guess is that development efforts are probably now all being focussed on the new TV scanner that is currently in Preview.
This “solution” works but i really think there is something wrong with the scanner. I added 2 shows (Street Outlaws and Wanda Vision) and for both i had to use the ID because the Plex scanner couldn’t find the show but both existed on thetvdb. How can this be troubleshooted further?
afaik, Plex has always made use of the folder name when matching TV Shows.
and your filenames do start with WandaVision.S01E01 the correct series name, season and episode numbers.
(Plex it can be quite forgiving of file names, until it’s not. Which is why I find it generally better to follow the naming guidelines to save pain further down the road… but that’s just my 2 cents)
