Plex Media Server version 1.12.3.4947 has just been released as beta

It has a fix for caching bug where the cache was not correctly checked before making EPG requests to tmsapi.plex.tv. With this fix, the volume of requests should reduce significantly - 75% reduction has been observed. This should avoid getting Cloudflare rate limiting temporary IP Bans.

It still doesn’t work for me as soon as I disconnected VPN and refresh EPG. Attached is my log. Can you help?

@sa2000. Thank you for your help and patience. EPG/Cloudflare issue seems to be resolved. EPG just updated normally. Still using Plex Media Server ver 1.11.3.4803. I will upgrade when 1.12.3 comes out of beta.

Would like to mention here an EPG related hot fix

The hot fix release for the bug giving rise to lost airings and recordings between 00:00 and 01:00 GMT on the day the EPG is refreshed is now available as beta release 1.12.3.4973-215c28d86

My guide is updating fully now. Still very slow, 2-3 hours each time for 10 channels.

On 1.12.2.4929, hopefully 1.12.3.4947 will get to the Shield soon.

Glad this issue was actively dealt with. There was a point a few years ago when WMC lost guide data for 3 weeks, no updates, no feedback. Not fun. The only saving grace was being able to set manual recordings .

Also having this issue with EPG. It will get up to 3%, but then just stall there for hours. I’ve rebooted, deleted the DVR and re-added, and also reduced channels to under the 300 it finds stock but it just does not work.

You need the latest beta release 1.12.3.4973
If problems persist would need server logs with debug logging enabled

Maybe an appropriate question I need an answer to before I consider to also have a very slow EPG download is, how long should it take to download the EPG on 290 channels at a download speed of 80mbps/Comcast USA?

Just upgraded from 1.11.3.4803 and it is even worst. Uninstalling and going back since the issue is still not fixed.

1.12.3.4973 is the best version for EPG refresh

The issue on this long forum thread was mostly relating to problems of timeouts in Ontario Canada which was resolved by Cloudflare

If you do have a problem on 1.12.3.4973 please raise a new forum topic and attach your server logs with debug logging enabled from the start (before launch) and logs captured after a refresh that fails or hangs

i’m in the version 1.13.1.5063, and when i click on “guide” section , plex display the guide is empty, after guide refresh… same thing, another issue with the guide refreshing with this version ?

in plexpy after refresh i’m have this in plex server log

Please attach full logs zip and not just a snippet
See https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/

Please wait 30 minutes before collecting logs if you see if not progressing

and please indicate if the Enhanced Program Guide option is enabled - that does slow down EPG refreshes considerably
