Somehow I had the impression I already provided that exact info :).
So let me try to be more specific:
Server Version#: 1.19.1.2630
Player Version#: 4.22.3 (web)
Tuner Make/Model: HDHomeRun Expand
Link: Cable (DVB-C)
Country: Belgium
EPG info:
language: Nederlands (Dutch)
postal code: 3110
guide: Telenet - Vlaanderen Belgium Digital (which was mentioned in the first post :/)
Channels affected: 1, 3, 5, 6, 18, 31
Issue: running ahead with various timespans (some an hour, some ~15 mins, some with 4 minutes). Really weird.
Since the problem was not isolated to a single show, I (wrongly?) assumed just indicating the channels would suffice, as all shows on those channels are affected.
But here we go (this is all for airings on 07/04/2020), a pick out of each channel as all shows have the wrong timings.
channel1 (VTM): Chicago Med, S04E02, 22:45 - 23:35, but EPG says it’s 21:38 - 22:25
channel3 (Vier): Gert Late Night, S07E02, 21:20 - 22:25 , but EPG says it’s 21:30 - 22:45
channel5 (Q2): Vertical Limit, movie, 22:30 - 00:35, but EPG says it’s 21:32 - 23:38
channel6 (Vijf): Criminal Minds, S03E17, 23:10 - 23:55 , but EPG says it’s 23:25 - 00:15
channel18 (Comedy Central): The Goldbergs, S02E11, 21:45 - 22:05, but EGP says it’s 21:55 - 22:20
channel31 (Nickelodeon/Spike): Ghost Adventures, S12E5, 22:35 - 23:20, but EPG says it’s 22:50 - 23:35
As you can see, it’s not consistent over those channels, and sometimes not only start air-time is incorrect, sometimes duration is also incorrect. This is so for all the airings on those channels.
Thanks for the info and suggestions. I’m pretty new on these forums and am not always fully aware of how much info is needed.
I really appreciate you helping me out with this.
Thank you for the detailed information. I presume the issue is not just 7th April. I am unable to easily check programme data for periods that are in the past.
It would help me if you give me examples that are 2 or 3 days in the future
(I will check the EPG data for future dates for the channels you identified referencing the web site for your provider)
Indeed, the issue is not limited to 07/04/2020.
I’ll provide you with a similar list as before for the 10th, later today (as I’m at work at the moment)
So here is it for 10/04/2020.
channel1 (VTM): Annedroids, S04E05, 07:40 - 08:05, but EPG says it’s 06:30 - 06:53
channel3 (Vier): Seems to be correct for this date (for today, it’s still off by a large margin)
channel5 (Q2): Cougar Town, S01E19, 08:00 - 08:20, but EPG says it’s 07:00 - 07:21
channel6 (Vijf): Seems to be correct for this date (for today, it’s still off by a large margin)
channel18 (Comedy Central): Seems to be correct for this date (for today, it’s still off by a large margin)
channel31 (Nickelodeon/Spike): Alvin en de Chipmunks, S03E24, 15:50 - 16:15, but EPG says it’s Kung Fu Panda: Poten van het lot S01E11 (timing matches)
So seemingly, sometimes it also reports the wrong show on the correct timeslots
As you can see, it’s quite a mixed bag of correct info, wrong timeslots, wrong airings, and not consistent all days.
A question of out ignorance, is there somewhere some feedback system so that we know if certain raised issues have been resolved by your provider? Or is the spreadsheet here the only form of communication we can see?
When issues are addressed I would give the feedback in the relevant forum thread. I also update the google sheet - but there are some old bulk lineup updates I have not gone back to update the sheet for
I have response now from our provider saying they cannot see any discrepancies at the moment.
They have also stated that recently there has been an increate in last minute changes made by networks to schedules - such changes may not update in time
Could you tell if you see any anomalies and I will refer back
Please let me have channel numbers, dates/times, airings and what is wrong
Please do that check after completing an EPG manual refresh
Hi, yes, last I checked it was still wrong. For example the 13:00 news was schedule at 12:00 in the guide.
Will do a refresh and create a detailed comparison for the various stations again as I did last time.
For 27/04
channel1 (VTM): ‘VTM Nieuws 13:00’, 13:00 - 13:30, but EPG says it’s 12:00 - 12:30
channel5 (Q2): ‘The Bold Type’, S02E04, 12:25 - 13:05, but EPG says it’s 11:25 - 12:05
channel6 (Vitaya): ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’, S12E01, 12:05 - 12:55, but EPG says it’s 12:08 - 12:55 and episode info is missing (so here only a few minutes of, but still weird :/)
channel31 (Nickelodeon/Spike): School of Rock, S01E13, 11:40 - 12:00, but EPG says it’s Blaze en de Monsterwielen S01E11 (timing matches, but wrong program)
It would be a real pity if doesn’t get sorted out. An untrustworthy EPG is real problem to get people use the Live TV and DVR features.
Considering canceling my Plex Pass and come back in a year or so.
Have set up a TVHeadend server in parallel in the meantime, even though its user experience is much worse and requires thorough IT knowledge to get it up and running properly.
The last update I have is that sequencing for “Don’t Tell the Bride” was being worked on and that the examples highlighted have been done.
The airings timings have been checked
Can you tell me if you are noticing still the same of type of errors as reported originally or is the issue now just the 1 hour out - or is that resolved now?
If you do spot anomalies - and please make sure you do a full EPG refresh and that It is completed to 100% before checking, please let me have details as before
VTM and Q2 channels are entirely 1 hour early in my EPG (all shows on those channels are wrong by starting 1 hour too early).
What is the best way to completely wipe the EPG data and fetch an entirely fresh EPG?
