EPG Refresh Doesnt Complete

I’m in the US, East Coast VA, using a HDHomeRun with a Verizon Cable Card. The EPG never completely downoads. It stalls at some percentage, currently 22%. Once it made it to 89%.
Is there any work around for this? Also where does one manually start a download of the program guide?

Still have issue? I have same/same/same and it works…takes hours…

Also where does one manually start a download of the program guide?

Settings → DVR (Beta) → Refresh Program Guide

You can manually point to a previosly downloaded xml tv file during set up… (2nd step)…I have not got this working…my format is not ok with Plex.

Normal configuration steps include:
1-ID of your recorder on your computer/network.
2-Initial channel scan from tv device and country ID
3-Verification of Cable provider and channel config finalization…

After that…hit next…EPG starts on it’s own after initialization…mine takes…2/3/4 hours…and the best part…no cached epg upon completion…so it all starts from ground zero…seems daily…

Make sure you are on
-highspeed GB wire
-powerful machine (my i3 struggles…my AMD A8 is much quicker.
-record to local/fastest drive you have (nas network push/pull can be ugly).

Bottomline- not a reliable dvr equal to WMC…I can’t wait till it is solid…don’t spend huge cycles if possible.

My recording from Plex are marginal at best…even on best machine running solo… (no replay or other clients app access or no server twiks-during recording…record to local drive).

Recording in WMC is still my only option…I previously converted these to “mobile optimized” but conversions and are now very very very slow.

Oh yeah…delete dvr and start over is always a must have if things hang during setup.

Thanks chesfisherman1. Now my EPG finishes but it is clearly incomplete as it seems to lack some basic shows that I expect to find, such as “The Americans” and “Fargo”. I upgraded the internet speed, maybe that helped. And I’m now using an i7 which seems to be fine for the transcoding.

Jbrownlow1,
Good to hear it works.
FX is a nogo along with a few others…it has extra drm from fios that does not allow plex viewing/recording.

You can see which channels have extra BS in hdhomerun interface/windows media player/plex dvr
