Live TV and DVR program guide not downloading

i have a HDHomerun Prime box and am a Plex Pass subscriber. i am attempting to setup the Live TV and DVR function. I can go through the setup just fine until i get to the section where it tries to download the program guide. it just seems to keep running and running and no guide ever comes up. i have let it run overnight (around 8 hours or so) and the next morning its still running. is there a trick or something i’m missing to get this setup? How long does it normally take the guide to pull down? My download speed is about 75mb/second

Once you do that it should add the DVR and download guide in background.

Maybe try and delete DVR restart Plex and add DVR again?

It takes forever. Try disabling all but one channel and let it complete once. Then start enabling channels in packs of 10 and measure how long it takes to update. You’ll want to adjust your Scheduled Tasks window to accommodate this for future EPG Updates.

not sure what you mean by “deleting the DVR” and then add it. do not see where we can delete it from.

that option is not there. i guess maybe its because the dvr doesn’t finish install until after the program guide download is complete

seeing how long one channel takes. i disabled all but the CW and its been running since the comment was posted (about an hour ago) still running at this time

just an update. it is now noon and the program guide for that one channel is still trying to download. something is definitely not right and probably on my side. but i’m getting 75mb/s download speed and its just trying to get the guide for only one channel. definitely don’t think it should take this long.

and i think i may have found the issue. i think it is the program guide for FIOS in general. as a test i just went to another program guide and did the same thing with one channel and within 5 seconds it gave me the setup complete option. so i guess its FIOS issue note mine or Plex. hopefully i may be able to find a guide that will work for me in the other listings. I’ve tried zip codes for my surrounding area cities. i live in woodbridge, Virginia and have tried Washington, D.C, Fairfax, Springfield, Herndon and the FIOS guide doesn’t download for any of them but the other cable companies do.

If it is an EPG issue which is what it sounds like report it here

You can try and setup XMLTV and MC2XML But yeah your best bet for now it to find some surrounding area that has close to your broadcast and use that until the EPG is fixed.

reading the description of the forum it is correct for this issue. it says it is for EPG that did download but is showing incorrect information. i will see if i can find a guide for now that works for me. thank you and to everyone else for the assistance.

it also does not appear to be only with FIOS Digital Cable Program Guide, Comcast Digital Cable Program Guide (basically if its a Digital Cable Program Guide) its not downloading

i finally got the guide to pull up correctly. not sure what the issue is specifically but i built a Plex server on a desktop from the ground up, hardwired it my modem (Fios quantum gigabit, running about 950mb) and it finally downloaded. so maybe my laptop using wireless just wasn’t enough to pull the information

There are posts in the Windows forum regarding a problem with SONLIFE. I am using Plex 1.9.6.4385 with HD HomeRun Prime on Frontier FiOS. My program guide was empty, following the suggestion in the thread , I unchecked SONLIFE, Channel 297 on my carrier and guide data started loading.
