If you get a number that is lower than the current value in this configuration field, put the new number in there. Save the configuration and then reboot your NAS.
Everything is good on my end. MTU is 1500. While I couldn’t find the MTU on the NAS, it does have Jumbo Frames turned off. So, I would guess it’s up to 1500 but not entirely sure.
I have added a new TV Show (well, more episodes) and I got all the metadata for that. So, I have no idea why I wouldn’t be getting it for Futurama or for some random episodes in other shows.
I’m gonna take Futurama off the NAS for a few days and then add it back. I’ll do the dance once a day while it’s off and see if that helps.

A developer has suggested you might want to check the hard disk for integrity where your Plex data are stored. (it is on here: /mnt/HD/HD_a2/Nas_Prog/plex_conf/Plex Media Server/)
Do also clear the agent cache again after you removed Futurama.
There’s actually nothing in Cache after I cleared it last time. Should that be?
And I’m not sure what you meant by checking the integrity of it. I scanned the HD and it is in good health (brand new so it better be!) but I don’t know if I need to scan a particular place.

I did find this other post but don’t know if it’ll help me. It’s located here.
I also have no idea where I’d find anything. I’m not exactly sure how to read the logs or what logs I need to read.
Hm, this thread talks about Windows.
This was actually the first question from the developer - if there were problems with access permissions on the Plex data folder.
I am no Linux guy, so I am almost useless when it comes to your NAS device. Sorry!
The most interesting logs for diagnosing your issue are Plex Media Server.log com.plexapp.system.log com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb.log
and sometimes Plex Media Scanner.log
(There are older “rotated” versions of all log files with an additional number in the file name. The higher the number, the older the file.)

The cache should have some content after you (re-)added a show to your library because Plex would downlad meta data and cache those.

Yeah, that’s what I meant. Checking the integrity of the file system and the health of the drive.
Do you know what would be causing the Cache to not have any content? Will this cause a problem in the future?
I’m guessing all this might have something to do with the NAS. Here I am thinking I got a good one. It’s a RAID 1 to mirror the drive for safe keeping but I don’t think it’s really helping. It seems to run slowly just about daily (the NAS and in turn, Plex), doesn’t transcode like it said it was supposed to. I’ve noticed a few videos not playing on my Apple TV with Plex App or the iOS App for my iPad but plays from the web and Plex App on my Mac - just takes about 30 seconds for it to actually play.
At this point, I kinda just wanna start over from scratch and remove Plex from my computer and NAS fully then create new Libraries and see if that helps. Surely, there’s a way to fully remove Plex from both computer and NAS to remove all the associated files to start anew, right?

to see the cache totally empty is weird. At least after some media have been added.
Which makes me think that there might indeed be some issue related to ‘access permissions’…

Mirroring protects you only from a failing singular hard drive.
It is in no way a ‘backup’.

What precise NAS model do you have?

I have the WD My Cloud Mirror Gen 2. It could just be coincidence but when it runs slow, I just reboot the HD and it works better. I may end up getting QNAP as that seems to be much better than mine. And more customizable! But, if I can get this to work correctly, I’ll keep this for a while.

You can still use it as a “data grave” — err sorry, as a data storage.
Put the server itself onto a small PC. Might be cheaper and more flexible than getting a NAS with a powerful CPU.
After setting up the new QNAP Server, everything was transferred over and is getting the correct data. I still have the other server set up and it’s still not getting the correct metadata. Could be a limitation of the HD or lack of RAM to process so much? Who knows. But, I have all the metadata I need on an expandable hard drive and RAM machine and I couldn’t be happier.
