My friend cannot play movies from my library remotely via the Windows Plex app. He is able to browse fine however. The Plex Web and his iPhone app both work fine for him.
Looking at the logs, the server decides that transcoding is needed (as expected) and attempts to start the stream. However after a few seconds the client responds with error: -13.
The sever logs appear to show transcoding attempted but the dashboard never shows it for his stream, it only shows direct play (which definitely would not work - the movies are 30mbps, my upstream is 15mbps).
I’ve tried many things: Updated media server to latest, disabled firewalls, verify port forwarding, etc. It doesn’t seem like the problem is network or server related since other clients can access fine. I did read that there is an “indirect connection” bug with the windows client, but we are not using a relay as far as I can tell. I disabled relay and tried another of other server based setting changes - nothing works.
