error loading dashboard

since I upgraded to plex pass I’m receiving the message :error loading dashboard". I’m using a WD PR4100 24TB NAS as my PMS. Also when I try to update my library the NAS shows plex using 99% of the cpu. When I try to connect with my media player and click the music button all I show is a blank screen. Please help!

The dashboard error is a result of the CPU hitting 99%-100%. And it can’t serve up the request for the page before it times out. You need to see what’s causing the CPU to max out and get a handle on that in order to fix the other issue.

If you are making index files (BIF files) then this could be a huge part of the problem. Or any in-depth analysis. The CPU in that NAS isn’t a very powerful one, so anything that tries to read the media files could be a likely culprit. the CPU just hasn’t got the power to deal with that at the same time you are doing other things with it.

You can set one of these tasks up for scheduled tasks by going to: Web App -> Settings -> Server -> Library and set “Generate video preview thumbnails” and “Generate chapter thumbnails” to “As a scheduled task” and then go to Scheduled Tasks and set the times for this to something when you don’t use the device much. (After midnight local time to 5AM might be a good time frame.)

Thanks for the info. I’ll give it a try and see what happens

I stopped the library update and now cpu usage is down to 20%. I logged out and back in but I still receive the same error loading dash board. I was watching cpu usage during the process and it never went higher than 50%. Do think it could be a problem within the library? Should I delete it and start over? Thanks

I’m currently using Version 1.0.1.2366 and have received an update message. It states to install manually so I downloaded the update and performed the update manually through my WD pr4100. I tired with and without removing the current version with the same results. I’m back with Version 1.0.1.2366 again. I wanted to upgrade to see if it helps my error loading dashboard since nothing else has helped.
