I’m getting an error now when I try to play some videos (these videos do play in the regular Windows 10 default “Movies and TV” player, so it is not the file)
The error is: “Not enough bandwidth for any playback of this item. Required minimum bandwidth is 103kbps and only 64kbps is available.”
There appears to be no way to reset this. I’m running it right off the same Windows machine as the Plex server on a 1GB network. Bandwidth should not be an issue.
Any ideas on how to solve this?
I should add, this only occurs when running the web interface on the local Plex Server Windows machine, and then attempting to play the file through the Plex Server web interface. It appears using a Plex PLAYER app on the very same machine or some other device…even a phone or Roku…works just fine. ONLY on the local system through the web server interface does this error occur.
Drat. I tried going back to older databases…no joy. I even tried a repair from the article at https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201100678-Repair-a-Corrupt-Database. Again, no success.
Wiping the database out will also destroy the Plex DVR and recording settings I have established…
Sigh. I may try to backup the database, and then delete it…and then see if the bandwidth error remains.
Well, it appears the database is not the issue. I exited Plex Server, deleted the three database files, and had Plex recreate them from scratch. I added the TV Shows library with the file that reports back the error message “Not enough bandwidth for any playback of this item. Required minimum bandwidth is 103kbps and only 64kbps is available.” The error still persists, even with the database recreated from nothing.
It also persists if the database is repaired…so something else is at work here…
Well, now the error message regarding bandwidth for some shows has…vanished. Settings-wise, nothing really changed, so I am at a loss for why the error message is gone. (this thread can be closed out…)
