Error opening URL; Plex is no pulling TV metadata.

TLDR :
How do i fix “Error opening URL ‘https://tvdb2.plex.tv/search/series?name=Game+of+Thrones+S01’” ?
It seems to me TheTVDB is unable pulling the metadata even with correct naming convention.

My plex server has suddenly stopped pulling metadate for TV shows from agents both manually and auto mode.
Movies work fine. All new shows i add are missing (Show Description, summary, posters etc ).
What i have tried so far but didnt work :

  • Unmatch and rematch shows
  • Manual search ;
    Making sure TV show name and year was correct with manual search, found correct match after unusual long
    search time by agent but still no metadata returned. At best returns one poster sometimes not even that.
  • Remove media content from storage, put it back and update library.
  • Tried both agents The Movie Database and TheTVDB in manual search
  • Restarted Plex server.
  • Ran database corruption test with SQLIT3. Went OK.
  • Did fresh plex server on a different a PC to test if this was only on my server
    Surprisingly metadata wasnt pulled by the new plex server either . At one point The Movie Database returned
    pulled correct metadata after manual search but it worked only once.

At this point i dont know if the error is on my end or not since pulling metadata didnt work on the fresh plex install on a different PC.

TheTVDB has been having service issues for the past day or so and this does impact our metadata collection. tvdb2.plex.tv is a proxy for TheTVDB service

Thank you, just found about this TVDB issue. Its great programmers at Plex are aware of this and maybe find alternatives to this broken system since this is a returning issue.
