Error when playing trailers

When playing trailers (before movie starts, or from the movie detail page), I get an error “Transcoding ended due to an error” most of the time. It seems the plex server is trying to transcode (even if I chose not to), and there is an error with that.
Out of 10 attempts to play the trailer: 1 attempt would play the complete trailer, 2 attempts would play 15 seconds into the trailer, 7 attempts are not starting at all.
It seems random to me.

On the same PC, Plex-Web is playing trailers without an issue.
This issue happens since several weeks, also updating to the recent versions did not solve the issue.
The same happens also on my second PC, also the same Windows 10 installation.
