am getting this error when trying to play something on android and firestick but not on my ios device? i have tried different android devices, disabling subs, no luck. please help
Having the same issues here, cant play on my android phone, or one of my nvidia shields. However another nvidia shield, windows PMP or plex web works fine.
When i turn off subtitles tho it starts just fine, and i can turn on subs after that. :S
P.s. its with all my media its doing that.
mine doesn’t start with or without out subs enabled :(, i tried plex android client version 6,7 and of course latest 8.x doesn’t work either. this is so frustrating and disappointing, the issue is all over the web, pp recommend disabling subs, audio passthrough, new player etc, i dont have some of options to disable so am back to it not working.
Seems the October 15th update to the Android app broke (at least) ASS subtitles. Same message as above. I’ve used Aptoide on my Shield to downgrade to the latest previous version available (8.23.something) which works fine and disabled Auto App Updating until this is fixed.
i didn’t try that version, will later on but i have a feeling it will not work for me still
one of thing pp were saying on all those other posts were the lack of acknowledgment by plex, now i see why, honestly this is disgusting.
Keep in mind its weekend now, so i understand why no confirmation is done by plex.
I am also getting this error on Shield TVs. If I change the settting and have it auto convert it will play the file but during playback the file will act as if it was fast forwarding in sections for 5-10 seconds stop and playback will continue as normal and the cycle will repeat off and on until the end of the files playback.
am on server Version 1.24.4.5081, would this still apply to me ?
hoping a fix comes soon never seen such issues with it

Yeah and I trying to find an older version of the app to install so I don’t have these issues
i tried v6, 7 and 8, same issue, so i would hold my breath, not to mention those old version look ugly compared to the latest version

I’m running PMS 1.24.4.5081. I’ve the “pendant” model FireStick 3rd Gen (2017) with Plex Android TV 8.23.2.28087.
No issues streaming movies from my Plex server with secure communications enabled or disabled.
Does the problem happen with all your media or just some media?
Are the iphone/ipad, firestick, and Plex server all on the same network, or is one of the clients remote?
issue i believe does not happen locally (same network) since i happen to have 1 local and 1 remote plex server, issue so far happens on android (bluestack) and regular and 4k firestick version. i will make sure i have the same version as you as a ts step and report back.
same issue still, everything still the same
ok this went dead here, is there another post or way to check that plex is aware of this and is actually working on a fix or that is not the case?
