This evening I launched Plex on my Roku and I think it may have updated the Plex app. Honestly, I’m not 100% sure since I clicked through it kinda fast. I think it was some kind of “setup” of my libraries - like picking the ones that show up in the left-side nav.
Then… problems:
Every single title errors out immediately saying: “App cannot direct play this item. Direct play is disabled.” There are options to “Retry” or “Stop” - Retry doesn’t work.
That’s all I got. Nothing has changed on the server… but maybe the client was updated and the new version has a bug? This worked 2 hours ago… I did nothing but watch netflix on the roku then switch back to Plex.
Yes… In server settings I noticed that remote connections weren’t configured correctly. I reconfigured the IP address & port and got that all green and the error seemed to go away.
That said - I had noticed the remote connections settings were “broken” for a long while, and since I was still able to connect to the server remotely I didn’t bother fixing them.
So it’s a little unclear that those settings caused the error.
Also, the whole bit about plex launching me into some kind of “setup” flow shouldn’t have anything to do with remote connections, so something else must be going on here.
