I experience constant buffering when playing 4K DV videos (directly) with the latest Plex Player on Google TV (TCL C825), when a video has high bitrate (24+ MB/s). I’m using Wi-Fi 6 router, and the network speed is way higher than needed. I googled for the issue and found on reddit, that the issue started happening on the Plex Player few month before, and a suggestion to try Player ver 8.30.
I installed it manually and it resolved the issue! Now, when I start playing the same video as on the player 9.5, it’s buffering for few seconds at the start, but then works really smooth till the end. On the player 9.5, however, the playback starts instantly, but then annoying buffering appears every few minutes. I see that the network and HDD are underutilized at these moments.
Please, fix this issue and make buffering to work as in the ver. 8.30. I would continue using this version, but unfortunately, on Google TV, unlike Android TV, there’s no way to disable app updates, and from time to time my Plex Player 8.30 receives an update and again I can’t watch my videos, I have to uninstall the app, and install 8.30 from APK again
