I’m not quite sure why, but there’s an exclamation point over a user shadow image on my server admin page. My plex is up to date with the most recent beta, remotely accessible, etc.
try sign out and sign in again - on the server settings general page
Sign Out and then reclaim
if an error is returned, get the logs and upload the zip here (assuming debug logging enabled)

Interestingly, i went to the dropdown menu, and it said sign in. even though I was signed in. Once I did, everything seemed to be working.
Ok. It keeps happening. I don’t know if it is related to Firefox or what. I’ve relcaimed this server a few times now.
See my last sentence and the 2 links in my last reply http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1629464/#Comment_1629464
My bad, will do
I’ve finally been able to get the logs. I think the issue is related to the Plex certificates and Firefox. I’ve had zero issue with IE or even mobile.
I try to sign out and sign, and it just hangs. Once I remove HTTPS and just HTTP, then the process starts. If I close the tab and re-open, I’m back to the exclamation point.
Did you ever resolve this? I have a similar issue, which I think is related to HTTPS.
Nope. Every time I log in with Firefox, without fail.
Suggest getting Web app log as well as server log and screenshot
There was nothing out of the ordinary in the server logs provided by @cyberbrix
Web logging is enabled as follows
Settings / Web / General / Show Advanced / Debug / set logging to verbose and save changes
Suggest also enable firefox dev console logging (you can do this in a separate test if easier)
Firefox Menu -> Web Developer -> Network
(tick Persist Logs)
Server Logging
Settings / Server / General / Show Advanced / Enable Debug Logging and save changes
Ensure running current version of server software 1.12.3.4973
Restart the server
Sign server out (settings / server / general)
Double check web logging is still set to verbose
Settings / Web / General / Show Advanced / Debug / set logging to verbose and save changes
claim the server
when you get the exclamation mark, take a screenshot with time showing
get web app log
Settings / Web / General / Show Advanced / Debug / view logs / select all and copy to text file and save
and get Firefox web developer logs (click within the network area and right click and select Save All As Har
get server log
Settings / server / help / download logs
As web log and firefox log may include tokens you can send to me by private message
I get the exclamation point on the user image with Chrome as well Plex Media Player. Right now it won’t even show the server in either of those, but that seems to be intermittent. When the local server is not shown, my Plex Cloud sever is still there, but I have an exclamation point by my user name.
I am getting certificate errors in Chrome when I log in to my account on plex.tv also.
Firefox and Edge seem to be working fine, though.
Should I start a new thread and send my logs? I don’t mean to hijack this one, I just thought it might be a similar problem.

is this the user account for the server (icon within server / settings / general page?)
certificate mismatches could arise if there is old cached data for the app/browser and server certificate updated eg server signed out and signed in
Also could arise if there were some changes to backend systems in Amazon Cloud and DNS updates did not get picked up by the router or ISP
Other possibility would be some security software that would be man-in-the-middle and changes certificates to ones of its own
you can continue here - unless this is a Plex Cloud server specific issue
Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is the user icon in server / settings / general. I was getting the exclamation point on my local server as well as the cloud server. Now the local server is not accessible with Chrome or Plex Media Player but I still get the exclamation point there for Plex Cloud.
I can access the local server and there is no exclamation point when I use Edge or Firefox. Is PMP using Chrome (the default browser) somehow?
I though it might have been the Chrome extension “HTTPS everywhere” but I have removed it and the problem persists.
These issues began when I updated the server to the latest version, so perhaps your idea on certificate mismatches with old cached data is correct. I cleared the cache, but now when I try to access the local server in Chrome I get “Plex is not reachable. Make sure your server has an internet connection and any firewalls or other programs are set to allow access.”
When I try to sign into my account on www.plex.tv in Chrome, I get “There was a problem signing into Plex”
I’m using the computer that is running the server. Edge and Firefox are fine (as is Plex for Home Theater), as are other devices on the network. But Chrome and Plex Media Player cannot connect.

In Google Chrome, open https://www.plex.tv and then click on padlock to the left of the www.plex.tv secure url
Then click on the certificate link and then screenshot the Certificate General information
Then click on the Details tab and get me few screenshots to cover all the lines in the details
Thanks

I will do so tonight as I am no longer at home with that computer. Thanks again for your help.
I have sent a PM with screenshots of the certificate.

Thank you - it looks ok.
Have you installed any certificates in the past?
Could you get me screenshot of signing afresh into PMP and then getting the exclamation mark
Also screenshots of chrome sign in sequence
Thanks

PM sent. I have not installed any certificates for Plex in the past. It’s possible I may have done so for something else in the past but not recently.
