External Subtitles issue : selected sub not displayed

Hi,

I am new to plex. Just decided to test it on my local lib when I got an Amazon firestick, as an alternative to my dune media players which are getting old.

I’ve checked several posts with subtitles issues but I can’t seem to find a solution.
The player will let me chose external .ass subs, but when playing the episode, the sub is not displayed.

Subs are in the same location as the media file, with matching name.

Thanks for any hint.

There is a problem with ASS subtitles and Android TV clients. See the thread listed below.

Until the developers fix things, the best approach might be not to use them.

You can use Subtitle Edit to batch convert to SRT (in Tools menu).
