Extreme lag in menu navigation

Server Version#:1.27.2.5929
Player Version#:1.20.2.3110

Anyone else experiencing awful menu lag in HTPC? Tried on 2 different machines, each having at least 10th gen i7 and RTX 3090 w/ NVMe drives. One with Nvidia studio drivers 472.12, the other game-ready driver 516.59 (up-to-date). One machine is remote while the other is on the same local network as the Plex server.
Playback is fine on both (when it finally starts playing), arguably better than the standard desktop app (of which I have no menu lag at all…assuming I can get to the content to begin with), with both set to stream Original quality.
I’ve tried various settings in NVIDIA control panel, DDU’ing the drivers and starting over, and most recently the settings described in this post, all to no avail.
Here’s a screen cap running from the machine that’s on the same local network as my server. You should be able to hear arrow-button presses when in HTPC to give an idea of the lag. Screen capture is set at 30fps max so playback doesn’t look smooth, but it is. Any advice as to what else I can try? Surely this isn’t expected performance behavior.

While I also suspect Nvidia issues, it might be a good idea to verify that is the case. If either box has an iGPU, you could pull the 3090 and wipe the Nvidia drivers. If performance improves then at least you know you weren’t barking up the wrong tree.

Were your issues during playback, or menu nav, or both?

Open the nVidia control panel (the one you get with a right-click in the desktop background).
Make sure that you have not globally overridden any of the detailed default settings, like e.g. Antialiasing or refresh rate locking.
(When you have to set such a preference, it should always be assigned to the app/game which requires it.)

In the settings of the Plex player, play with both the Hardware Decoding and the Playback Quality settings.

If your machine has more than one GPU (e.g. Intel integrated graphics and the nVidia GPU), then create a preference for the Plex player to always use the nVidia GPU.

I suspect this is related to the problems described in this thread.

You might try downloading version 1.14 and see if it has the same problems. If it doesn’t then I think that confirms it’s the same problem.

I´m having a similar experience on one of my PCs (RTX 3050 - Studio driver). It is not as extreme as shown in the screen capture but definitely noticeable. I´m only having this since Version 1.2X.X. It also seems when it’s somewhat cached (loading images also takes much longer) it is reasonably fluent again but still far away from before. Have there been changes made to Qt?

Just for testing, I switched back to version v.1.19.1 and the difference is really like night and day.

#EDIT: Just wanted to watch a movie with version 1.22.1 but somehow its totally messed up. It is juddering like crazy, forcing vsync in the Nvidia helps but leads to frame drops. With Vulkan I don’t have this problem. => moved to a different thread where it belongs to + attached log file there.*
