Just thought I’d confirm - I’m on the most recent version of the iOS app - and FaceID does work for the initial app launch. However, when switching back to Plex app from another app after you’ve already authenticated with FaceID - it does not re-authenticate. You’re presented with the User selection screen and if I tap my main User account it does not attempt to use FaceID again - it just lets me in. Seems as if the app stays running, even in background, that it doesn’t authenticate again even when switching profiles.
However, if I force close the app and re-launch it - it will attempt to FaceID. But only for that first time.
OK thanks for info.
From my experience, even if you do not remove Plex from memory, only close the app, if you wait ~15+ minutes it will work again when you re-open it…leading it to potentially be an issue with cache somewhere and/or Plex is not telling the iOS that it needs to trigger it right away on reload/user-switching.
Hi, apologies for the late reply. The issue is on the engineers radar, however I don’t know when exactly it will be fixed.
Hi all, the issue Sign In with Face ID would sometimes not show the Face ID prompt after switching between users. is now fixed in the current beta 8.21
Hi @Justina_plex ,
