I am testing my Xbox Series X’s ability to Direct Play files.
I downloaded the test file from Techno Dad on youtube - How Does Dolby Atmos Matrix? Is Your Dolby Atmos Setup Working Right? Test Your Home Theater! - YouTube. Filename: “TDs Atmos Matrix Video”
When I Direct Play (and disable Direct Stream), the audio doesnt work properly - no height channels or rear channels. eac3 is converted to ac3.
I get an these error messages when playing this file:
- Cannot direct play with protocol: http, codec h264. Reason: Video stream exceeded resolution of 1920x1080
- Cannot direct stream with protocol: dash, codec h264. Reason: Video stream exceeded resolution of 1920x1080
- User disabled direct stream in settings.
- Direct play not available; conversion OK.
When I enable direct stream, it seems to play fine with respct to audio (even though I get error messages 1,2&4.
Is this a problem with the file or with Plex?
The reason I ask is because when I play this file via USB stick to Xbox Series X, it works fine.
