I am getting recordings that are scheduled in ages in advance without any conflicts, and after recording it appears with The recording was not started because airing was in progress with a little exclamation mark. When I checked the programme was recording from the beginning and this error only showed after it finished… I have a HDHomerun Quattro so no running out of tuners and was only thing recording
Anyone have any ideas - also is the recording stuck somewhere in a buffer as I say it was defo recording… The programme was - no spoilers please…
The Great British Bake OffS9·E10—The Final AIRED Tonight at 8:00pm on 4 C4 The recording was not started because airing was in progress VIDEO SD
Interestingly or not - checked the recording history this morning - it shows that programme in list but no Orange triangle anymore. Also no play button. So a similar state to if you had watched the show and deleted it would look. However of course I know this isn’t the case…
Only thing i can think of is to check in the advanced option for the recording schedule for the show and make sure the Allow Partial Recordings is ticked
Without this i believe it will ignore the recording if it doesn’t record the full length
Thanks - this is where we are seeing limitations of Plex over say Mediacenter. If I tick partial recordings on then it won’t record a subsequent version if shown later because it assumes it has already recorded. Also no reason I can see why it was partial in first place…
Do HDHomeruns go to sleep. This was the first recording of the day…
Not sure on HDHomruns, mine is a usb tuner
I do know they has been issues with tuners starting up in the latest version, and a timeout was added which caused problems, so it’s possible that if it takes longer than normal to start recording it gets partial
For me, i have the allow partial ticked, then if something does get partial recorded, it will automatically record the next airing of the same episode (if its aired again)
Ahh I didn’t realise that was behaviour of partial recording. But that explains why I see some episodes of programmes with a little number showing multiple recordings.
Pity there isn’t any documentation to refer to about logic. eg. Partial recording means etc…
