Live & DVR adding new recording not working anymore

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2171 running on Win 10. When scheduling thru web interface a new show (Schitt’s Creek Season 6 on POP) thru the guide it displays scheduled and the red icon but when checking under recording priority section it shows no upcoming airing and doesn’t record anything even though the show is running. I tried to restart the server, remove and add the show thru browse and not guide, always the same problem. Tried to add other shows to test and same issue. HELP!

In the Advanced Section of the Recording Area - if ‘Allow partial recordings’ isn’t enabled - a ‘running’ program won’t be recorded.

If that setting is enabled - it’s buggy somewhere (or that recording already exists - or Plex thinks it exists <—but, if that’s the case an ‘error’ message should appear when you try to schedule a recording that already exists).

Partial recording is enabled and the show was the same day but at 9pm and I scheduled it in the afternoon. The show was never recorded on my Plex server …
I can’t add any new recording is the problem and not only the example I provided.

played around with show advanced option and now it works. Set resolution to Prefer HD, unchecked allow partial airings and set limit to the channel it is running on, clicked save and voila! What is weird is that I didn’t have to do this prior but default settings worked.

SOLVED…The issue is the with the field in the advanced record options. Specifically, it’s with the field to choose if a program can only be recorded at a certain or at any time. Change that field to “any” and you should be golden. It worked on all programs for me when I made that one simple change. I even tried changing my start recording before / after times to zero from 1, but I was still getting the dreaded “no upcoming airings” message. This a glitch in the software and should be address by the development team. It’s frustrating as hell to have a problem like this that is not addressed unless & until people like me stumble through the dark upon a solution. Hope that helps! Please let the rest of us know if there are any circumstances where this work-around does not in fact work.

Issue was that Xfinity broadcasts POP only in SD and I had it set to HD only. It was apparent that they broadcast only SD to me. Anyway, no idea why they would do that and at the same time I can watch it thru the ROKU Xfinity app on demand in HD. What can I say …

Well, I am glad to hear that some of you have solved this problem. I have not. For over a year I’ve had a show that I record on Sunday night and it’s always recorded just fine. Now, for some reason it shows as “no upcoming airings.” I have tried all the solutions listed above and it has not solved the problem. In fact, I’ve literally tried EVERY possible combination of settings to no avail. It is quite frustrating as it’s an older show that is on MeTV that you cannot download or even purchase on DVD, so each week I’m now missing these episodes and have no way of getting them.

Plex staff - I’m a lifetime plex pass holder. PLEASE HELP!

You tried SD recording I assume. Just asking :slight_smile: Xfinity changed POP TV to SD and that was my problem.
