Failure re-upgrading media scanner

Server Version#: 1.24.3.5033

I upgraded to the new media scanners quite some time ago. Just yesterday, I tried downgrading (from Plex Series Scanner → Plex TV Series) which worked fine. Now, however, I’m trying to switch it back to the newer one again and am getting this error:

Errors in PUT request: <html><head><title>Bad Request</title></head><body><h1>400 Bad Request</h1></body></html>'language' is invalid

Any suggestion or workaround?

What language do you have set for the library?

English, and I’ve tried changing it as well.

When saving it just says “your changes can’t be saved” and then I see that error in the logs

I take that back, English was set as the language elsewhere.

Looking at it now, both libraries this has happened to say “none” as the language and don’t have any other options!

That sounds like something messed up your library. It should not say none. It should only be none if it’s an “other video” type.

Try changing the agent to “Personal Media” and see if that will save. Then change the agent again to the new one.

Yeah, very weird about it. Refreshing the metadata doesn’t work properly anymore either.

When it’s set to the old scanner, it says language “none”, but when I set it to the new scanner it says language “English” but won’t let me save.

And it won’t let me change the video type, can’t click on any other ones.

You can’t change types. Did you try the “Personal Media” agent?

Ahh sorry. No, that doesn’t work either. When I change it the agent to Personal it says the scanner to the old one, and when I set the scanner to the new one it sets the agent back to a Plex one.

Fwiw, this is happening to both a movie and a TV shows library

Well now something interesting happened…I created two fresh new libraries just in case I needed them, and then I got a message to upgrade my libraries…and that worked! It set the language to Indonesian (not my language) but set the scanner and agent correctly and I was and to change the language and save.

So, fingers crossed, it might have worked! But definitely seems like there’s a possible edge-case bug with upgrading->downgrading->upgrading.

Okay looks like this is all back and working, thanks for your help and suggestions.
