Simple request really , an option to move files from one section to another in PMS. My particular example , I have a "Movies" section and a "Blu Ray" section on my server and I would like to be able to move some 1080p files from my "Movies" section to "Blu Ray" without having to go through Finder.
Also , rather than making another topic , would it be possible to be able to download a file from a shared library?
Move file - You want Plex to actually move the file from 1 folder to another and to move it to another library as well? If so, this will probably not happen. Plex has made a conscience decision to not modify your original files ever. This included moving them around. The only exception has been to allow deleting a file.
Download from shared - This will never be possible directly from Plex. This action is questionable in terms of copyrights and Plex does not want to run into issues with that.

I don't think that is a valid response (anymore). I say this because if they were really worried about copyrights they would not have provided SYNCing to clients which from a legal standpoint is probably the same.
I'm not sure what the difference is from a copyright standpoint between allowing someone to stream vs sync vs download media you provide.
Personally I think Plex should provide this as a turned off feature that the Admin has to turn on for each member just like with SYNC. It really should be up to the ADMIN to determine the use of their system and the legalities of how it's used and the content it contains.

I think as a usability feature , if we're allowed to delete a file from our library we should be able to move it also. Obviously just my opinion though.
I would very much like to be able to move files from the Plex interface. I have had a number of times when I organized files I entered the wrong directory for sorting and don’t discover it until I’m going through the library. It would be very convienient to be able to move a file to a library matching the current type. If there are more than one library folders then allow you to pick which one.
I also would love this feature. Recently started setting up a kids section on my system, and those movies are scattered across like 6 drives, however using plex’s built in rating system and key words i could filter it down and tell them to transfer in a matter of minutes if the feature was there. Instead I’m going to have to dig through all the drives and find all the files that i want to relocate to the kids section and manually do it which is going to take hours >.>. 9 Drives not at all what i want to do with my time.
